300 cows paralyse vehicular movement in Ondo
The Amotekun corps in Ondo state on Tuesday seized about 300 cows in for flouting government orders on open grazing.
The developed however resulted into heavy vehicular traffic along the Oyemekun-Oba Adesida road up to Alagbaka on Tuesday morning in Akure, the ondo state capital as men of Amotekun Corps conveyed the 300 seized cows to their headquarters.
Our correspondent reports that vehicles and other road users were stuck for hours on the major road while others were later taking other routes to avoid being delayed to their destinations.
More than 100 cows had also been seized on Sunday along the Akure-Ilesha highway by the Amotekun officials for flouting the State government directives on open grazing and use of underage herders.
The 300 cows were said to have been seized along the Ilesha highway.
When contacted, Commander of the Ondo Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, said he was in an operational area but promised to call back.
He was yet to call as at press time.
