Former Ondo Tutor-General, Mrs Oludare bags Breeze FM Award of Excellence

A former Tutor-General in Ondo state and renowned Educationist, Mrs Omolade Oludare has been honoured with an award of Excellence by Breeze FM Akure.
The award was in recognition of her immense contribution to the development of education sector in Ondo state.
Receiving the award in Akure on Thursday at the Mathematics And Science Quiz Competition For Junior Secondary Schools organized by Breeze FM,Akure, Mrs Oludare said “I am highly grateful to God for what Breeze FM and the Ministry of Education,Science and Technology are doing to recognise and count me worthy to receive this highly priced award while rounding off the competition of STEM.
“As a science teacher and chairman Science Teachers Association, Ondo state, I cherish what the ministry of Education, Science And Technology and Breeze FM did to organise students from all local governments in the state and having the grand finale of the competition today is a great thing because science and technology is key now. The future belongs to the scientists and to solve societal problems, we must recognise the place of science.
“The scientists will identify the problems in the society and proffer solutions and that these young ones are being stimulated to embrace science is a great thing and it will remain indelible in their hearts.
“Competition is also key in science if we want to move forward so that you know where you stand.
“I want to appreciate the participants of the quiz competition. The world is in your hands, you should take over and it is good to go into Science, Mathematics and technology because of its importance to the world.
I thank God for this award and I dedicate it to all science teachers in Ondo state.”
In a remark ,the General Manager, Breeze FM Akure ,Bashorun Banjo Abitogun said the honorary award was aimed at encouraging more people to contribute in “advancing the frontiers of education in Nigeria.”
He pointed out that the award given to Mrs Oludare was merited and not ‘awards for cash’.
The General manager explained that the radio station had last year selected schools across the state for the quiz competition before picking the last six for the grand finale.
Bashorun Abitogun said the quiz was part of the station’s social responsibility in partnership with Ondo state ministry of education, science and technology and the state library board.
He however pointed out that many schools were lagging behind in the area of mathematics and Science.
In a remark, the chairman of the event and another award recipient, Dr Bode Oyerinde who commended breeze FM for the initiative, urged parents to discourage their children from being engrossed with watching television and social media.
St William’s Catholic school, Okitipupa emerged the winner of the mathematics and science quiz competition for Junior Secondary Schools organized by Breeze FM.
Other runners up at the Grand Finale of the competition were Jolice Model School ,Ore ,Radiant International college, Owo and Greater Tomorrow boarding school, Arigidi Akoko.
