NDSS, Police, NSCDC Joint Forces arrest Eight suspected oil Bunkerers in Ondo

 

The Niger Delta Security and Surveillance (NDSS) has arrested eight suspected oil bunkerers at Abereke community in Ilaje local Government Area of Ondo state.

The Suspects were arrested in four boats loaded with Drums of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) Popularly called Diesel.

Public Relations Officer of NDSS says the arrest was carried out by the NDSS Patrol team led by Chief Job Omotuwa in Conjuction with Antivandal Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command along with the Nigeria Police Mobile Force.

The statement reads “On behalf of the Niger Delta Security and Surveillance (NDSS), the Zonal Operation Manager, Delta, Edo and Ondo States, Chief Job Omotuwa wishes to intimate the general public that the NDSS will continue in her operation to curb all acts of Illegal oil bunkering leading to Economic Sabotage in the Niger Delta Region and the entire Country.

“It should be noted that on 14th November, 2021 at Abereke in Ilaje local Government Area of Ondo State about 8 Suspects were arrested in four boats loaded with Drums of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) Popularly called Diesel.

“Recall that on 28th October, 2021 a vessel was equally arrested by our team when the suspects embarked on the same illegal dealings in petroleum products business on the high sea.

“As partners in progress with the security Agencies statutorily empowered by law to investigate and prosecute such crime.

“We have handed the suspects, boats and the Drums of AGO to the operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ondo State Command.

“The NDSS remains a discipline, dedicated and law abiding team and we will not relent in discharging our duties in collaborations and Synergy with the Security Agencies on board.

“Hither to, we are using this medium to advice the general public most especially those in the Coastal areas to stop any act of vandalism, illegal bunkering and dealing in petroleum products as NDSS will not hesitate to arrest suspects and hand them over to the security Operatives.”
